Lauren Wallis
Lauren is a counsellor who specialises in working with children, teenagers and young adults. Lauren spent many years as a teacher in both primary and secondary schools where she gained a deep understanding of young people’s social, emotional and cognitive development. This spurred her passion for mental health and psychology, leading her to undertake a Master of Counselling at Monash University to gain clinical expertise and include adults in her practice.
A warm, safe and trusting relationship with clients – regardless of their age – is at the heart of Lauren’s practice. She engages a human-centred therapeutic approach, which is built on empathy and unconditional respect for the client. Lauren’s therapeutic style is very gentle, supporting each person to feel at ease to express themselves freely and without judgment.
Lauren has extensive experience supporting NDIS participants of all ages, working closely with families, support coordinators, and schools to ensure counselling is accessible, flexible, and aligned with each person’s goals. She is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming clients from all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Creating a space where every person feels respected, understood, and genuinely safe is central to her practice.
When Lauren is not working with clients, she loves gardening, cooking, both creating and appreciating art, and enjoying the company of friends and family. She is also a footy tragic, supporting the Carlton Football Club her whole life.
